When you start a business, a website can feel like a big project. It does not have to be. For most new businesses, one good page is enough to start: it tells people what you do and makes it easy to contact you.
What that one page needs
- What you do, in one sentence, right at the top.
- Your services or products, with prices or "from" prices if you can.
- Proof: photos of your work, a few reviews, or the brands you work with.
- Where you serve: your area or "delivery across Malaysia".
- How to reach you: a WhatsApp button and a short enquiry form.
More pages can come later, when you have more to say. Starting small means you go live faster and spend less.
Domain and hosting, in plain words
- Domain = your address, like yourbusiness.com.my or yourbusiness.com. You renew it every year. A .com.my address needs a registered business; a .com does not.
- Hosting = the space on a server where the website lives. Also paid yearly.
- Buy both in your own name. Then the website stays yours, whoever builds it.
What to prepare before you call a designer
- Your logo (even a simple one).
- A few good photos: products, your shop, your work. Phone photos are fine if they are sharp and bright.
- A short description of what you do and who you serve.
- Your WhatsApp number, email and business hours.
- One or two websites you like the look of.
